Appreciate those that sent. I received but just noticed the fees are pretty high. Not sure how this will fly with newbies. The small amounts get hit the hardest 50% fee which would be majority of Nostr zaps. 99% of the zaps I get are below 200 sats on Nostr.
Alby timed out but I think this is an issue zapping from Alby to Zeus because I couldn't zap nostr:npub1ezw0xm0w52rd4yfdg9zlw9qvwdy46alzelklkefptrd203m37tuq4djmeg either minutes ago.
From what I understand it does get sent when I accept it on my end. Did it go through for you. I just accepted some zaps now. I think its an issue on alby side on how they show it. Seems like we are on the bleeding edge and needs some catch up by others
don't think it went through. My last tx is 18 min old. Though I had two transactions time out last week for 1k each, those left my wallet and never showed up in the tx log. I wrote it off as a weird bug and moved on. But those tx's never prompted a failed message so these were cancelled.
21 from WoS seems accepted and is pending with a "self-custodial" message. very nice.
Oh okay so that was from wallet of satoshi. I had some getalby zaps go through to Zeus but it was hit and miss on what went through so I ended up double sending because it shows like failed on my end which makes things feel broken. Not good for now but hopefully can be fixed by alby because if more people start using Zeus lightning addresses Zap experience using Alby going feel broken.
Sent one more direct tx from the Alby UI and just saw that it went through. So yeah, it seems to be a bit hit and miss when zapping notes from Alby to Zeus users at this time.
It shows on my post your zap did get through. 21 sats fee was 10.5 sats though. If a new user first experience is a 50% from receiving tip on Nostr I don't know if that would sit well with them without the full grasp knowledge of what the worth of self custody is.
This is why I keep saying self custody lightning will never be the norm.... IDC how much innovation there is.
Not an easy problem to solve but we didn't have easy mobile self custody lightning addresses now we do small steps forward.
But that's possible. It's not possible to avoid these fees unless you have massive liquidity and are well connected. Embedded nodes will never achieve that. Lightning is great but we need something else for self custody instant payments with Bitcoin. Ark maybe? Idk. But lightning won't be it. Lightning is a fantastic institutional tool. It will never be the layer normies use to buy coffee unless it's custodied by a well connected node with lots of liquidity.
Ecash is cool too, alas, it's a further abstraction from main net so degree of trust is even further spread...
