Been meaning to read Ginsberg’s HOWL and after hearing Ethan Hawke talk about him I felt it was time. Arrived today and am rather excited.

Today I learnt about City Lights Books (independent bookstore). I don’t believe I had ever heard of it before. Cool history. Feeling a little late, but then how are you supposed to know until you know, you know?

Have now added it to my list of places to visit.

If you are exploring the Beatnicks, you might like some Jack Kerouac, like On the Road or The Dharma Bums, especially if you like to travel. It’s more optimistic than Howl, imho.

I’ve actually been reading Kerouac’s ‘On The Road’ too ❤️‍🔥 he’s got a cool writing style, was easy to get used to

Have you read some of the scenes when he worked as a fire lookout in a tower in the North Cascades Mountains in Washington?

True story: I worked for the US Forest

Service in that area and, one time, my truck broke down on the North Cascades Highway. I had to hitchhike home and while I was walking with my thumb out, I saw the exact tower in which he worked and wrote up on Mt. Hozamine. It was an incredible moment for me.

Come visit, anytime! Our hometown bookstore

I definitely will ❤️‍🔥🫂🙏🏽
