Ok absolutely NOTHING about app development. I know a little html css... etc. With that in mind, are there any functional tutorials in using something like NDK, so that I can learn by doing?

I've never seen a tutorial on it, but the GitHub repo does have some examples so it's pretty easy to get a simple app up and running. You'll need some basic JavaScript knowledge though. nostr-tools is another good library to get started with.
