I have my bit axe miners pointed to my own node running datum that creates my own block templates with ocean mining pool and I will receive bolt 12 payouts to my CLN node.
Those 10 sat payouts are going to be killer!

Why are you using ocean pool? It sounds like you have everything you need to mind directly to your node without needing a mining pool.
I wanted to see what the pool mining was like. All you have to do is switch a couple setting to go solo with the same setup.
Noice! I couldn’t get DATUM installed on my Start9 machine. Also, this makes me appreciate your 10 sat zaps even more. 🙏
What issue did your run into? The most time consuming part was setting up ssh key and using cli to run simpleproxy.
My first payout was 3 sats 😂 but I only had 1 Bitaxe running. I added my other one now.
This is from my stats on ocean dashboard.
I thought I took a screenshot of the issue but I can’t find it. Something to do with blocknotify even though I clicked save to accept the modifications.
After that didn’t work, I tried installing Bitcoin Knots but still had a similar issue. 
I had that issue too. If you saved that curl... Line in the block notify section in knots. Then you might need to open and save config again in Datum.
That solved my issue.

that's correct. datum needs to grab the pointers from bitcoind again and realize that blocknotify is set correctly
