There are two kinds of errors: Unintentional and intentional. Most scientific papers contain the latter, and always have. A cricuil component of the scientific method is unbiased peer review. Unfortunately those with something like "concensus credibility" have too much to lose to lend credance to anything that challanges their own conclusions, in particular anything that threatens their revenue stream and therefore their positive noteriety.
