The real way to nostr is to let all your alts share one npub

Maximum chaos. Maximum fun!

Yes!

Looks painful ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿคฃ

Like Voldemort/Quirrell ๐Ÿ˜‚

Imagine one account for pug pictures, one for posting pirated movies, another for longer notes about Nostr, and another for pineapple pizza shitposts.

That's painful ๐Ÿ˜‚

UI/UX not ready for this

Could be hard to keep track of also

Unless you're really good at compartmentalizing various social networks and your identity within them in your head, it's hard for anyone.

I think I would need solid notes for this. Or just do it and let people know itโ€™s you. Or non participative alts

One downside is if my nsec is compromised I'm totally fucked. If you had different npubs at least you have separation to keep some accounts under your control.

I'll just use Mosha for proof of Ryan though ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ‘

Jay changed his nsec/npub once. It seems like it wasnโ€™t a problem. People will recognize you

It would get rid of a lot of zombie followers too ๐Ÿค”

Yeah it wasn't bad. I had some notes saying I switched, it was in my bio, and I had back links in the new profile. And then I was just interacting as myself everywhere I already was before, and people got it.

The more genuine you are, the harder it is for someone to forge your identity. But the fact that I linked to both npubs from each other helped a lot for my credibility. I think only a couple people DMd me about it.

I remember actually.

Yeah I was Jay [NEW NPUB] for a while ๐Ÿ˜‚

as a nym, isn't our reputation on nostr related to our signing key?

Computational reputation != human reputation

And if you can verify that two npubs are controlled by the same npub, you can merge their reputations.

That's what I want to do for my new and old ones.

NIP it at a protocol level

If you lose your keys and make a new set of keys, as long as youโ€™re honest and werenโ€™t pretending to be someone else, people will recognize you. Jay and SatsMcD are examples of this

that's true. personality over time is hard to match

Itโ€™s easier to be genuine than to play games. The ones that try (to play games) are easily found out.

Amethyst has an ok ux for it, but ain't nobody got time for that. If they do, they're the crazy ones ๐Ÿ˜‚

That's way too much work.

I'd rather people just think I'm insane.

Me too. Be your authentic self.
