I started a Pinstr board featuring Nostr profiles of bitcoiners with progressive, left leaning, and reformist political views.
I’m not trying to make Bitcoin a partisan topic, it simply isn’t. On the other hand, there is still a strong perception that all bitcoiners are libertarian or rightwing bent.
Therefore, it’s easy for progressives to feel lonely and isolated in the Bitcoin world, even more here on Nostr. This board aims to foster a sense of belonging and connection among like-minded individuals.

I've been thinking a lot about this for a while now and I think that a lot of people struggle with this because the definition of a "progressive" is not well understood and I think a lot of people have wildly different definitions or conceptions about what it means to be a progressive.
Would you mind sharing your concept or definition?

I personally find myself quite aligned with the ideas of the so called social liberalism "that endorses social justice, social services, a mixed economy, and the expansion of civil and political rights, as opposed to classical liberalism which favors limited government and an overall more laissez-faire style of governance" (from the Wikipedia entry for "Social liberalism").

I think in general bitcoiners who push back the hardest are the ones who know how terrible the government has been historically at "social services" but I don't necessarily think that progressive bitcoiners are endorsing current wealth distribution mechanisms as a perfect system.
My thoughts for better messaging from progressive bitcoiners would be to highlight the problems with current social systems (like broken money and broken incentives), propose actionable solutions and point out how justice and equality are literally just promoting freedom and consistent rules for everyone.
