Came to a local Japanese grill chain restaurant and asked them to cook my meat in butter instead of vegetable oil.

They couldn't cuz they only have garlic butter for garnishing and said that would make the butter bitter. But they agreed to use very little oil.

Since it's newly opened and I'm literally the only one in there and the cashier was very nice and opening, so I went ahead and told him about why vegetable oil is a problem and how the good fat/animal fat is gonna be the next non-gluten thing, so they'd better be ahead of things.

He said they even have a special soy sauce for this kind of reasons.

I showed him localfats.com and he said he'll talk to the manager. πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ

Little by little, peeps.

Oh, and after that convo, they decided to use no oil and just let the fat from the steak to do its job. πŸ€—β˜ΊοΈ

Am I mistaken, or do you live in China?

When I went there the first time, I made a friend with celiac disease. It was really hard for her to find safe food because gluten is added to many dishes. It’s nice to hear some restaurants there have become more accommodating.

Great idea.
