The aim of this post is to aggregate some notable news stories relating to AI that you might have missed — some of these are quite hilarious, while others are disturbing and deeply tragic. I’ve said before that, with respect to climate change, the weather right now is more stable, less extreme, and colder than it will be, on average, for the rest of our lives. (So, you know, savor that heatwave, because things ain’t getting better!) Perhaps something similar applies to AI: the present moment might be the least terrible that things will be moving forward.
