Dispensationalist evangelicals and Christian Zionists (e.g., many Baptists, Pentecostals) strongly affirm Jews retain chosen status. They see "the Jews" as the ethnic/national descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Specifically, the people of Israel as a distinct nation with ongoing covenant promises from God.

I've heard other ideas that "the Jews" are not these same people. I think there's a lot of information behind that idea and I've never deeply looked into it.

A Christian cannot be a Zionist and Protestantism is post-Christian, as is Talmudic rabbinic "Judaism." Protestantism is largely ahistorical so they don't reflect traditional Christian thought, nor are they a majority of Christians. The scriptures clearly indicate that the people of God are not a genos but those who follow Him. Modern "Jews" claim to practice the religion of Abraham, but none of their practices would be recognizable to him. Their religion was born out of the 600s AD, iirc. I am Orthodox Christian and would suggest you looking into our history and theology, but even the Catholics can be alright at times
