That’s right. But I’m just a little confused about this zapping thing. I’m able to zap people’s profiles but not individual posts. Do I have to activate the internal wallet on primal/damus to enable that? I really don’t like that the Primal wallet requires KYC, so probably not gonna do that..

Self hosted is a bit more complex. You need your one btc node, lightning and other tools.

Yeah, I’m currently experimenting with those things. Have been running a umbrel node for a month now, great UX and a good starting point for fairly non-technical people like myself.
Self custodial lightning with running a node, managing channels/liquidity and everything is a bit intimidating. Been using phoenix wallet a lot though, pretty good self custody solution I think.
Never tried phoenix. Will look into yet these days :)

it would be sweet if alby hub users could find and offer to open channels to each other
i have been stung twice now with channel partners who broke interop with alby hub's back end and that would not happen with other alby hub dudez
funny enough my current fiat mine gig is exactly writing a database system that helps build matches between users, i know it's probably not that adjacent with lightning but... i'm just gonna float that in the air... this could be a thing, alby on alby action... very smooth
