How did you meet him?
My first deployment as a medic, I worked at the Bucca internment facility. He was there when I arrived. Spoke pretty good english. We put him on a bus and sent him home December of that year. Most of the detainees that arrived at Bucca got released. If they were really interesting at the time they got sent to Guantanamo. The rest ended up with us and there usually wasn't evidence to convict them so they got released.
That's probably because you believe in a worldview evil people taught you so you wouldn't ask any difficult questions.
I think there is some “evil” in the world but I do agree that there is also a lot of incompetence and mental health issues that are mistaken for evil.
Your beliefs shape your reality & manifest your reality in this realm.
Be careful with your beliefs & know that they are at best, useful models to interpret that which is ultimately timeless & infinite.

That is 💯, but experience shape our beliefs… every time I met someone accused of wrong doing, and I do work with them I get to the same conclusion… there was no intention to “hurt” others… I need to see you, and share a meal a drink and a long chat 🫂
Our beliefs shape our experiences and often further confirm/cement our beliefs.
It doesn't have to be that way but we often choose that way. It is easier for our ego.
