It may be more than that.

Also much of the energy comes from wasted energy, the energy which we’re going to waste anyway.

e.g. Ercot & IRIS in Texas, USA.

Just see how electricity producers have partnered with Bitcoin miners to consume their excess energy at the time of the low demand.
