It’s an estimate. When you’re uninsured they’ll figure it out to make sure they get their money.
I don’t know the procedure you need but my recent medical bills say 13k is super cheap for surgery.

Well I wish you absolute best wishes on getting the surgery you need and budgeting for it. Never quite understood why dental and eye coverage are left of other health coverage.
