Network issues are making my fiat mine unusable, so while I'm getting paid waiting for screens to load...

A few notes about using Satellite.earth as my primary #nostr client.

1. There is no trending list to worry about. Also no follower counts that I am aware of. Not even sure it lists who I'm following. I'm fine with this, and consider it a good thing.

2. I don't think anyone is being shadowbanned or otherwise prevented from showing up in my Following feed. Actually I like my following feed because it also shows notes that were replied to by those I follow, so I can organically grow my following list a bit.

3. No reactions. I thought I would miss picking the perfect emoji to "react" to a note with. I don't. There is a star. I have to actually select the note from the feed to even click on the star. That is plenty of interaction. If you don't appreciate it, piss off.

4. No zaps. This isn't entirely true, or even a little bit true. What is true is my path to actually zap a post is not something I'm going to bother to do. On mobile, if I click the zappy icon, I need to choose a different amount, create an invoice, go dick around in a mobile lightning wallet, probably cut and paste something or screenshot something and lens it, I don't know - but it isn't going to happen. Sorry, not zapping everyone's stuff. Well, not that sorry. I like hodling my sats anyway. On browser, I think it might be hooked up with my Alby, but I don't use it that much on browser. I had been using Primal. Well, probably not anymore, as I don't like not seeing notes from people that I may be following.

5. No posting pictures. Not sure how it works, but I don't have a media account anywhere, so I just won't. My notes will be text only, and that is fine.

All this means my interaction with my follower feed is much simpler. Amethyst/Onyx was kind of frenetic, like I needed to do all this interaction to just keep up. Primal was almost too simple, and just made me feel like I was missing out on stuff. It was like a quick browse of something I would dig deeper into with something more powerful later.

Satellite feels right for me. I don't feel I need to use a different client to dig deeper. I don't need to worry about zapathons anymore - I just know to avoid certain times of the week. I don't need to worry about my lightning balance. I don't even see if I got zapped unless I go check with something else. I can do my gm and gn notes, daily journal, even contribute some carnivore content when I want.

I have bitcoin, but I don't need to talk about it. I think I talk more on here about meat and motorcycles than bitcoin, although I do like economics and history, anthropology and psychology.

OK, that's enough for one note. If you haven't tried satellite.earth, you should. It may not be for you, but then again, it may be.

Don't know how to tag someone, but Stuart has built something wonderful here, and this is his npub.

There is the "Featured" feed which I completely overlooked because I don't use it or really know what it is.

Just to be fair and all, the pessimistic view may be that I could be shadowbanned from it. Still don't care.
