There's a big difference between Bitcoin "owners" and Bitcoin Maximalists.
The vast majority of people that own Bitcoin don't care much about the KYC requirements the US government is attempting to add.
The vast majority of Bitcoin Maximalists do.
The question is, if you want adoption, maximilism doesn't help

Maximalism is the sole reason Bitcoin exists as it is today, the adoption curve is steep and there are no worthwhile shortcuts
