Circumcision is shitcoinery.

Can anyone rationalize the practice of circumcision (where it is not medically necessary)?

It’s part of the ancient covenant God made with the Jews. The early Christians came out of the Jewish people so it spread via Christianity.

The practice is, at this point, a cultural tradition and most cultural traditions aren’t all that practical.

Circumcision does? I think you have that backwards. Removal of the foreskin leads to desensitization of the penis and results in a lack of enjoyment sexually. I won't debate any individual faiths practices but as a commonplace practice, it is appalling.
