Replying to nobody

That has been the issue with every phone I would truly consider a "freedom phone."

When they come out with a piece of killer hardware that can run Ubuntu Touch, I will fully make the switch and do my part to make the software happen.

Librem 5 is also like a linux box in your pocket but the battery may only last a couple of hours. I haven't turned mine on in months. Wasted purchase.

Yep. The hardware is everything. The software can be crowdsourced (and I believe it will be) so easily. Hardware.... that's a sticky wicket.
