I once tried to go through the setup process of Bitbox02 and it wouldn't recognize the SD card what made the setup get stuck at this point.

I contacted support and they told me that the bitbox was faulty and I couldn't skip this step so they sent me a new Bitbox02...

Maybe there's been a firmware update by now that made the SD card optional? 🤷🏻‍♀️
