monero is an amazing privacy tool. It's usually considered a shitcoin if you consider it a long term store of value, and that is only because it doesn't have the network effect. if monero had a bitcoins network effect which it never will because governments will not want that kind of privacy to ensue, it would likely proliferate.

Not really a "shitcoin", a coin has to be actual shit to be a shitcoin. Fortunately for shitcoins there's a lot more of them than real deal coins, so if someone's a shitvoiner there's plenty to choose from. If you're only into real deal stuff there's like 5 max.

Governments will never allow it... We aren't really concerned about that lol. If it proliferates, good, if not, I can still use it. It exists, it is useful, that's really all it takes, that and time.

How do you set up a monero address on Garnet? Any ideas?

Did you figure this one out?

I think so. Not 100% sure. The last one I was told was a testnet wallet. I changed it but don't know squat about monero to be honest

Your address is showing correctly. Once you receive a monero tip, it will pass through 10 confirmations before it is usable, roughly 10 minutes. I'd recommend cake wallet, you can organize your addressed/subaddresses and see transactions coming in. Sounds to me like you got a bit of homework to do 😉

I'm no expert, but I'm more fluent than the average joe on here. Let me know if you have questions.

I do this is very true lol

Saw your post. I'd recommend not using Garnet. I tried it out before because I liked the idea of the Monero folks having their own client. It hasn't been updated since July. Ametheyst, which Garnet is a fork of, has been updated a bazillion times since then so Garnet is missing out on a lot of fixes.

Okay. I managed to get mostard working so will probably just run that on desktop for now and watch for either updates or another mobile client. I'm intrigued by using both BTC and XMR together, and I'm just trying to learn more about privacy on top of my daily stuff
