I don't think that's a fair example. All of those companies have private data-- like your email.

Nostr competes with Twitter, which is all public data anyway (mostly). And neither platform really hides your true identity from the government. It doesn't matter if you use a pseudonym-- if you write your thoughts in a public forum for a while, it is trivial for you to be identified.

Not that there is no value to be had; of course there is.

Tbh I still don’t know if nostr is social media or Bitcoin platform. Either way, privacy is always gonna be an issue on social media. But you have to learn to work with it.

I think it’s common for people to be happy on platforms where they feel accepted. Where they can be themselves, sometimes it’s about reaching a larger audience and sometimes about reaching nobody to be yourself 💕
