I think the technology is cool, the Fediverse has been my only social media for years now and until 2022 was a very quiet part of the web.

For many the ‘free speech’ meme just means assholes. Just ask the women here or worse still if you’re in any way openly queer, just see the replies they get.

Free speech is an issue because Julian Assange is in jail. Not because some prick got banned on X.

That’s the perception and it’s easily backed up with evidence.

I’ll persevere because I’m an awkward bastard but a more diverse set of topics would help Nostr become sticky.
