I grew up with it being unacceptable for any reason for men to hit women. Can’t image that being shown to the world and the world stomaching it. Maybe I’m cemented in “old world shit” but happily so.
The “fertile years” take is a bit cringe to me though. The point was solid without it.
Also the idea that they shouldn’t pursue sports. If it’s their passion and they can make a living at it, or it doesn’t matter if they can or not for whatever reason, all power to them.
They are doing it for a path to pride.
It only ever ends up as a path to being a rinkside color commentator in a man's version of their sport - that is if they ever developed the linguistics and sociability and vocabulary to put it all together under pressure (live mic/television). Or, of they're good looking - modeling. Vanity. Pride. Again.
There are some that are passionate, and like you I can respect it. But they gotta know at the end of the tunnel - you're simply pursuing a path with a dead end. Now I can STILL respect that (and even moreso) if they know this and keep going because their passion drives them. But don't get to the end of the tunnel and then bitch and whine and blame others that the tunnel ended and there was no light.
They all seem to do the latter inevitably.
Blame men for them not being able to stroke their own max pride. I don't see women watching women's sports either btw lol
Seems to me if you don’t want your daughters to be prideful, give them that message, don’t discourage them from trying to make a career of their passions. And especially not for Saif’s reasons and with his tone
