I'm so mad at big pharma right now. I swear apoquel is addictive and your dog requires more and more. I told my vet she was getting itchy at about 2am every day, requiring an extra pill (which I don't have enough for). I asked my vet to just switch to prednisone since it was so much cheaper and more effective, and my old dog didn't have any "long term" to worry about anymore. But my vet didn't want to and blamed me for not dosing exactly on schedule as the drug company claims the failure of the drug is almost always due to improper dosing. So I dosed exactly on schedule and 3 days into it, just like before at 1am, she got super itchy and flapped her ears so hard she has an aural hematoma for a THIRD time (a $1000 procedure to fix).

In truth, I think all of Western society is so corrupted it's impossible to fix. We've known about publication bias for ages and publications still won't do it. We've known how funding bias corrupts, forces focus into areas that aren't necessarily going to be productive, and pressures people into p-hacking. We've known about reproduceability crises. Nothing ever gets fixed.

Western Science is at the point where it is essentially dead. New science is a crap-shoot. At this point I don't trust anything done in a Western country after about the year 2000.
