There have been a few momemts of honest protest which is sometimes hard to reconcile with now. When I started at the University the Iraq War was just about to start. We genuinely tried all we knew how to stop that war short of violence.

I was in the street then. The largest protest in history was to try and stop that war. We blocked the roads that lead to a port to ship the armory. We had guns drawn on us we, we disrupted major events and got arrested. It was genuine, we certainly weren't being paid to stop a war, the media was for the war.

I watched on TV as the bombs fell and I knew then that 9/11 had changed America forever. We had crossed the rubicon.

The gfc and obama aending the feds to undermine Occupy once the Vets were on our side made clear to me then that protest was never going to work and that a new hand was being played.

"Moving Forward" was the catch phrase of the day. Forget what you see, forget the rights you grew up with, forget America, we are "Moving Forward"

I moved forward to bitcoin, living off grid and building a family. The only protest that works.
