Bitcoin is similar to Christianity (and other religions) in that, if run a full node, and maintain the Bitcoin ethos, you could re-start the network if needed all on your own. Similarly, if you were cut off from the rest of mankind, and went off to a distant land/planet, so long as you carry a Bible and maintain the Christian ethos, you could re-start Christianity.
