I should try ripping 4K UHD, I'll have to check if my player can do it.
I've been burning blu rays with it but not yet 4k uhd.

I have the 'Verbatim Ultra HD 4K External Slimline Blu‑ray Writer' as it ticked all the boxes that I needed, and the best of all it already had the [default] firmware that supported ripping via MakeMKV, so I didn't need to flash it with anything - worked straight outta the box!
I'm a digital hoarder, so I rip both the Blu-ray (1080p) and 4K UHD versions and have them in Plex. That way I know I'll have a perfect copy if anything were to happen to the discs. Also allows for streaming only 1080p when streaming to a non-4K screen.
