Coinbase claims they aren't restricting accounts, this is a lie. Friend who's been active on the platform for 6 years forwarded me an email from @coinbase, it's legit and not a scam. They've restricted his account and now he needs to provide a ridiculous data request to gain

Hopefully your friend doesn't have much on Coinbase. Any amount not good, but a big amount with a request like that, unimaginable!

We decided to emphasise decentralization of nodes over economically relevant adoption. Now we have mostly custodians (third parties Satoshi wanted to eliminate) that call the shots for autocratic governments.

NGU is not a success. It's the inevitable outcome when you measure a scarce good against one that is unlimited. People celebrating NGU tells you one thing. They are idiots. They didn't understand what Bitcoin is all about.

We have a second chance with Monero, but we are extremly late in the game as our enemies used their knowledge and time to nuke noncustodial and private solutions.

Most Bitcoiners are still. too blinded by fiat NGU, so they have no idea about the attacks against Monero since 2018.

I have mixed coins in self custody. They haven't nuked it. They just made it more convenient for people to let them custody it for you. I do agree we are at a point with etfs etc that NGU is already baked in and people should focus on promoting self custody and building privacy tools on Bitcoin. I think Bitcoin can accomplish privacy on second/third layers. With a more friendly adminstration in, now is the time to build and push privacy.
