There’s a lot of misinformation about this feature. It does not disable likes for other people. It just turns off likes for people who enable it. I don’t see why anyone would be upset about this.

Maybe this was lost in the #onlyzaps name, but it’s really about zaps and comments. If you are inclined to like something, you can do that with a comment. I have found I am engaging in comments more without having the 🤙 to default to. #onlyzapsandcomments

I routinely like probably 50 memes a day. I do zap sometimes. But I also don't want to comment on every one yet still want to show support. Likes are the most time efficient by far.

Was thinking more along the lines of users being able to go to their profile setting to remove the like button from other users on their profile. Comment , repost, or zap only for your notes only

You could. Would get less engagement in the sense that people who would've liked will likely do nothing. Which may not matter but serves as an more accurate indication of how many people actively read and appreciated the post.
