Why do I always think the Catholic Church is the follow up on the Roman empire. The Roman empire didn't disappear, it became the Catholic Church.
Am wrong or is it kind of true?

Sometimes I have this impression with the Catholic Church. There are so many parallel lines. So the Pope is basically the Roman emperor and the Vatican city is the left over of Rom! But in Rome you see a lot of signs from the Roman empire, all over the city and not only ancient stuff. So it might never gone away 🤔😉
