nostr:npub1jdyaqyngdj4tgmmtlm7j7npkr3fwzjcumcwdqf68dc9wd5lf39rqwlfwsu to receive zaps you need a wallet with the LNURL (the address that looks like a mail address) option.
You can use nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5 (in LND embedded mode) or nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm and you have to put that address on your Nostr profile.
With a wallet without a LNURL address you can send zaps but you cannot receive them.
Let me know if you need move info / help. 💜
1. I have four or five Nostr accounts, which adds to the confusion
2. When I use Damus to add a wallet, it prompts Alby, which prompts Primal
In Damus:
Profile -> Edit -> Lightning address
This is your receiving address which must be a LNURL address (like an email address). Best wallets are of course non custodial wallets like Zeus, Phoenix or Mutiny. However, they often come with some fees which is not optimal for low zap amounts.
On getalby.com you can easily create a lightning address, which you can add as receiving address. But be aware, this is custodial and therefore only suitable for low amounts.
You can employ the same receiving address for multiple accounts, provided you don't mind it being apparent that these accounts belong to the same owner.
Settings-> Zaps -> Wallet
This is your sending lightning wallet which may differ from your receiving one.
🙀🤯
Michelle, select one of your Nostr accounts and stick with it. Log in on Damus with the private key of the account you decided to use.
Go to Alby or Zeus and create a LNURL address (let me know if you have problems doing it).
Copy the LNURL address.
Go on your Damus profile, click edit, go down to “Bitcoin lighting tips” and copy the LNURL address.
Done! :)
BTW, remember to tap “save” at the bottom of the page! 😉
I set this up in WoS last January, and it was also unusual. I have a masters in info science and a front end dev boot camp certification and still the instructions I see are really confusing. I code on a weekly basis; what about the non-coders? I’d like to share Nostr more with others but the onboarding instructions need to be super clear.
That said, I believe I connected Alby successfully
No Michelle… I tried to zap you and Damus says “invalid lightning address”…
Good Lord
Thats what you added as your lightning address (no idea how you generated that string. Don’t use the “Wallet” tab in the settings of Damus!):
nostr+walletconnect://69effe7b49a6dd5cf525bd0905917a5005ffe480b58eeb8e861418cf3ae760d9?relay=wss://relay.getalby.com/v1&secret=78f5861f293886b1a3b718c6e87538911ec63272b1e0e7f6bcc43033d61f4a8d&lud16=redshape3@getalby.com
But it has to look like this:
Username@getalby.com
Go to getalby.com with your browser, create an account and copy the lightning address.
Here a series of 3 screenshots where to add this:

Also immediately delete that NWC authorization from your Alby account.
It should be gone now unless I have to restart
I mean from your actual Alby account, not just Nostr client. And then generate a new one if you still need to use NWC. Those should be kept private. Each string is unique though so once you delete from your Nostr account that one is no longer valid. You can manage your NWC connections at https://nwc.alby.com
Hmm that nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm page isn’t working any more 🧐 Let me find where you manage them now
I forgot it’s GetAlby. Here’s where you manage connections
