i have an electrolyte imbalance that carnivore diet can't fix, and i already have celiac so bread was really never on the agenda, and this also was how i ended up with an electrolyte imbalance
for me that means i have to pay a lot more attention to hydration and salts... i need potassium and magnesium and quite simply meat is not the best source of either of these minerals... milk is kinda good for K but magnesium the best is stuff like cabbage and spinach and lettuce, magnesium is the centre of the molecule that makes greens green, and potatoes and bananas are also both good for K, and no problem with celiac
it has been confusing for me because of my kidney problems, and i think it's something that potentially other people considering carnivore need to be aware of - it may not be helpful to them without the addition of good sources of especially the alkali metals (sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium)
of course, once the minerals are in better balance, the carnivore diet is more appropriate, i think
