Personally pretty sure wild Star Trek-level techs are already being used that we don’t even think can exist today…

Not exactly sure when this specific tech was released, but there were cufflink microphone that had a wireless receiver in the ceiling looking like a lamp.
The spy shoe is one of the craziest I've read about. Most of my surprise with these things comes from how small and low power some of the devices were at the time.
Well, not craziest, but most interesting to me. There were certainly crazier and more sinister devices than a walking radio station.
