Looking at some profiles with nostr:nprofile1qqs9kqvr4dkruv3t7n2pc6e6a7v9v2s5fprmwjv4gde8c4fe5y29v0sd595dt this morning and I’m 100% convinced they are serious about it. Whether it’s automated with bots or manual, they’re milking/“mining”a few thousand sats per month per account by replying to GM posts 😂😂😂

If you aren't spending months of work scamming to earn $2 of sats you aren't bullish enough I guess

Lolol yea but if they can get it working with automated replies on one account, and then duplicate that to dozens, it can just run and collect sats while they spend time on other things/grifts. 😂😂

Absolutely crazy. We’re definitely not bullish enough 😂

Cheaper than running asics 🤣🤣

Much cheaper. They probably already have the phone. Spin up an npub and start typing GM.

Cringe 😂

This is hilarious and sad at the sad/pityful at the same time. Capitalizing on good vibes

💯 It’s why I stopped zapping indiscriminately 😂

Same here 😂🤝

Good morning sir!

Good morning sir Thursday!

💯

Does this mean activity metrics are skewed by bot farms?

As bot farms typically suck up sats, potentially better metrics lie in zap stats, how many feed the bots?

Of course those metrics would be skewed by anonymous zaps…

Anonymous zaps don’t show up in nostr.band stats.

And the ones farming the GMs, some are bots but some are not

I don’t mind my 22 sat GM back. It’s fun.

👀

If it’s actual people posting to genuinely interact that’s fine. If it’s one person doing it from multiple npubs or running bots then they’re just scamming people and that’s not ok. Pretty easy to understand the difference.
