I don't understand the stonings arguement. Seems like a strawman.

Running your own node how you want is passive and not an attack on someone else for how they run their node.

I think it is more closely related to freedom of association. I'm going to do my thing and I can choose who I do it with as long as it's consentual.

This is not authoritarian. It's free market.
