Does the #lightning network really scale #bitcoin to billions of people? I am not so certain. It eventually comes full circle to centralization as billions of people will use custodial wallets anyway. Billions of people will not run a node and manage their channels.

Maybe that's just the pessimist in me. While I like the idea of lightning, I feel like the federated model (similar to liquid) will be the future. Not that it's the one I want, but I just see it happening more so than everyone running a lightning node.

Either way its inventible that speed sacrifices decentralization and security. Maybe I am wrong and regarded. Who knows.

Maybe #bitcoin just stays a store of value forever.
