Everyone thought they'll run a node in their bedroom. That's not gonna happen.
For end-users, only the Phoenix model makes sense to me. Possibly Greenlight + Breez but that still needs to prove itself.
For anyone else running Bitcoin infrastructure for whatever reason, Lightning is fucking amazing.
Still wanna mention that Zeus and Mutiny are doing a great job with their LSP integration.
Lightning for end-users without LSP seems like a dead-end to me.
IMHO, Lightning massively increases velocity. When you look at the money velocity equation of MV=PT (M is money supply, V is velocity, P is price and T is volume of transactions), if you radically increase payment velocity, which you can with Lightning, you need less M to facilitate the entire volume (PT)
