‍Restaking Poised for Institutional Adoption, Report States

Restaking, a significant development in crypto, is gaining institutional interest despite complexities. A P2P.org and Cointelegraph Research report highlights that while operational challenges and standardized risk assessment hinder adoption, institutional integration is considered inevitable.

Key obstacles include quantifying new risk vectors and the compounded slashing risks across multiple networks. Protocols need to offer reliable risk isolation and pricing.

The report identifies three integration models: self-controlled restaking, curated vaults, and Liquid Restaking Tokens (LRTs). Curated vaults are seen as the most effective for institutions, allowing strategic control while delegating operational tasks. Distributed Validator Technology (DVT) is also a game-changer, reducing slashing risk and single points of failure. Solutions like P2P.org’s SSV White-Label are lowering node operation costs.

As risk frameworks and solutions like curated vaults and DVT mature, institutional engagement in restaking is expected to grow, potentially making it a cornerstone of institutional crypto portfolios.
