the local cops never stop me at all, and almost everyone only takes cash here, except a few of the more busy vendors (supermarkets, restaurants and chinese general store)

and my "wallet" is a thing that wraps around my shoulder or hips and is constructed so even if i forget to close the zips it doesn't drop things from it

i don't mean this to be negative towards your loss of your critical things, nor do i envy your upcoming efforts to recover these documents, but this is how i roll, and this is why i roll this way

i don't even carry my mobile phone outside, it serves mainly as my server's backup internet if the house power goes down, and worst case scenario most of the EFT terminals will probably let me use gpay hooked up to my xapo virtual card, which i can set up in a half hour or so, if i need it, even if my whole house is powered down, and not just at home but anywhere there is a functioning mobile network providing connection to my phone service

the reality is that the "authorities" don't have lawful right to demand you present to them delicate, losable and critical identity information in the first place, carrying that around without backup is insane, and an onerous requirement of simply walking around the place you live in, and for that matter, it's onerous to require papers please even when you are traveling

all that stuff should be securely stored in your hotel's safe or at least inside your hotel room

that any of this basic opsec is being compromised so bad by the government policies of today should tell you that they don't give a fuck about your life, your security, nor do they care to do anything that actually protects you and allows you to thrive and bloom

they actually want you to starve, suffer and die, and like carrion eaters, feast on your loss
