🚨 It appears that app stores are complying with a secret order to block access to VPN apps.

Downloads are not working, and apps won't install.

In other words, the order to shut down X in Brazil is coming soon.

Dictatorship.

Though I suppose new Androids must be assumed to be pre-loaded with malware at this point.

It seems the blocks are only affecting iOS. Android still appears to be working.

For now.

We'll find out what happened when the orders become public.

Just checked mullvad. Still there. May be not all territories are effected equally.

This issue seems to be exclusive to Apple (we don't know why), and Alexandre de Moraes plans to impose a R$100,000 (+/- $20k) fine on anyone using a VPN. I find it impossible for him to identify who is using a VPN, but in any case, his actions reflect authoritarian and problematic behavior.

It will be a used Pixel 6a to try it out. Right now I still use an iphone 8 and a Samsung Android without SIM for wallets and where my identity is not needed, a "semi-private" normie phone how I call it.
