often times, people that know the most about a project are usually invested in something in that arena
this makes sorting thru discourse about projects difficult to people who aren’t insiders

this frustrated me a lot working on lightning protocols. most people would see technical disagreements in public and have a bad reaction to the way i said things rather than what i was saying
tone is more accessible than content in pretty much every situation
a lot of the nuances gets lost to outsiders, so you end up falling back to who you like/who says things in a way that you appreciate etc moreso than the underlying decisions that are being made
