Some people see this and think they won't need specialized clients. They are wrong. Amethyst, as a communities-supporting app, will never be as good as a dedicated communities app. It will never be as good as a dedicated live streaming app. Amethyst will never replace the Highlighter app or a conference app, or a calendar app or a lists app.

Amethyst's role is to support everything in Nostr in order to help each use case grow faster. The whole point of this is to rebuild big tech in a decentralized protocol. And we will do it case by case. Product velocity is key.

Absolutely! Nostr will have absolutely amazing apps built and centeree around a particular service and we'll have catch all apps that allow us to explore and participate in various aspects of the protocol. No one app will be a true everything app because we'll have various clients for different use cases.

As usual, bullish on Nostr developers.

You can't be everything to everyone.

Know your purpose & do it well.

💪🧡

Stay focussed

Would love that storage system feature to save the nostr files on the local drive as plain json files. This would make it easy to backup whatever content I'm following and interested in archiving.

Marketplace also looks good. Will be waiting to try that one out.

Love this energy! -- This is the way! -- Together WE are Strong! -- It's finna be lit.

Personally, I think it is counterproductive, and will only achieve the opposite in the long run.

It's good UX that will drive adoption, and it should therefore be given greater priority, over adding more use-cases.

My 2 sats.

An “everything” app will probably be really hard to maintain, both code-wise and UX-wise (too many options/bloated UIs, etc).

This is actually one of my favorite things about amethyst... I've been exposed to several different aspects and functionalities of nostr because of the wide ranging support of amethyst. This has encouraged me to explore those specific micro apps. I'll admit that the entire discovery process was a bit cumbersome and arduous but... We are early.

So basically, #Amethyst would be the nostr browser.

💯

I only want to say: thanks God, I have an Android smartphone #amethyst

I'd rather have an assessment of apps that all use my identity, but excel in doing their specific thing properly and good. One app for microblogging, one app for chatting, one app for whatever else. Separation and isolation of concerns - in a way. Not the most applicable statement, I know, but not everyone can be good at everything. And, not everyone needs everything. I have sent a whopping 3 DMs, and that was to tell someone to F off. xD

Love Amethyst a lot on my phone, thank you for all the hard work!
