Well it depends

People in general like to cling to biases

Sometimes it's just a matter of learned behavior

The government is just an organization made up of people

With their own biases and agendas

Politicians are notorious for their lying

But that doesn't mean that Sometimes they don't truly believe their own lies

Or occasionally tell the truth

It's akin to the stereotypical car salesman

Or defense attorney

They'll give their own mother a bad deal while boldface lying to her if it improves their career or allows them to accumulate more wealth

These things aren't specific or isolated to one type of group or profession

They're universal

People have more of an issue with government sponsored information because it doesn't always align with their biases

Plus no one likes a bunch of overpaid crybaby liars telling them how to think

However non government funded organizations participate in the same type of spin and sensationalism as the government funded organizations

Think of it like competing tiktok users

They'll do and say and be whatever the audience wants because it generates more engagement as well as money

There are some that still believe in the truth

But the important things tend to get a whitewash when they're actually part of a big company

Nothing is perfect, but I'll choose Individual journalism with public engagement any day.

That's true and that's your preference and hopefully we all continue to have the freedom to choose

I prefer a mix of everything

I like crappy footage from some rando's phone that's on the ground at the time of the event

But I also like turning to fox or cbs or abc occasionally

Already knowing their biases and what they value as a company

But only for the things that I know they will go hard at and try to expose actual truth

And seeing past the theatrics of it all

I used to turn to RT for the same reason but quickly found out it's all lies

Like the tabloids you'd see back in the day about batboy

The type of barnum and baily sensationalism and hype with absolutely no truth

Pure entertainment masquerading as useful information

Sorry idk if you get the references 😅
