I understand that, ultimately, it is the user's choice to decide what kind of notifications they want to receive.

However, removing the 'like' may not be the solution.

Instead, having an option to attach zaps to likes with wallet connect seems like a more reasonable approach.

We should not reduce the channels of engagement.

I’m concerned there will be confused new users who have no idea why they can’t like something on a client that looks like Twitter

Maybe? But do you want people who aren't able to learn use a zap instead of a like? I mean, it doesn't have to be just a decentralized Twitter, right?

I like it as an idea but not as a standard but I am open to experiments, I mean ZAP was an experiment.

It’s off by default. They would have to intentionally I turn it on in settings.🤷‍♂️.

I agree with this. Unless we want Nostr to be 100% only for one group of people. Which I don’t think is the point

Then they will have learn! Or be BROKEN against bitcoin’s infinite wheel…like all the others

They will learn when they see the value. Forcing it will just make non-Nostriches or non-bitcoiners reluctant to join and they’ll stick with the ‘free’ blue bird app

So if someone thinks that like mean something to them, are they potentially victim of an algorithm running in thier head?
