how much storage does the relay take up, what is its rate of growth?

From April of this year until this Wednesday it grew to around 150MB I think, and since then it has grown to 750MB

wow, is it compressing the data, I wonder how sustainable this will be as Nostr becomes more used and we move through history. Do you have a horizon for data store where you will start losing history?

I have no idea. I want to keep it free and open as long as possible but that makes it easy to spam it down with useless shit. In the long run I'd have to either crowdfund the hosting fees to be able to keep it open for everyone or I have to turn it into a paid service of some kind.
