#AskNostr what do you believe is the best solution out there to scammer epidemic filling up people's phones/texts/emails, which is sure to get even worse in coming years?

Could #bitcoin or #nostr play a part in fixing this? Or is there so little friction to these caller scams that this will always be a battle, and we just have to adapt & live with it?

The recent trend of content-creators going after these scammers and posting videos exposing them is a positive development, but it's not a root-cause solution.

The scams will dissappear only once it is no longer profitable.

Bitcoin will rekindle the flame of critical thinking and questioning in enough people to achieve this.

Something like #oxchat can. But people are hesitant to use this new tool.

These scams won't be going anywhere. As long as people exist who think that they can steal for whatever reason. Whether it's indians or anyone else.
