When @home merged with them they insisted that cable company techs must install their lousy software (an internet explorer skin that locked down the default home page) and wouldn’t let us complete the job until we did. Then they wanted us to do a lengthy customer education session showing off the exite@home website. First thing we did was show the customer how to uninstall it.

Then they under-sized the connections between headends so they were always saturated during peak hours. Of course the excuse was that customers were bypassing the proxy servers because techs told them to, or that the cable lines had noise, anything but the intercity lines.
