When I was a teenager living in Tampa Bay I flew home from my first trip to NYC on the day Hurricane Andrew hit south Florida. The skies were blue and my flight surprisingly wasn’t canceled. Fast forward 25+ years and Milton blanketed almost the entire state of Florida with torrential downpours, 19 tornados, and hurricane force winds.
While it missed a direct hit on Tampa Bay - cleaning up smaller messes across the state the size of Florida will still be an enormous project and it’s still unclear for many what sort of damage their homes sustained this time around as most have yet to return…
