FWIW, there's been a stream of articles about how certain Muslim heavy regions of the US, local school boards have been supportive of removing books that are LGBTQ friendly, and the LGBTQ activists are very upset that their support of a marginalized group, especially during peak War on Terror, wasn't reciprocated here.

I suspect they're slightly biased from meeting well educated, very liberal types that end up going to selective schools versus the average person on the street who is far less amenable to this stuff.
