Yes but even further... firmware, updates, and the kernel. Are those lower levels of code abstractions open sourced? It's a scale. A nefarious kernel attack is one of the most overlooked/difficult places.
Many "open source" projects only "open source" some parts of their project and then get called out on it afterwards.
From here you can even go deeper... is the hardware build auditable and all of the first layer abstractions? Likely not. So you have to trust the kernel implementations and Nvidia or whomever builf the hardware too.
Yes a lot of the stack might not be open sourced I get it, but open sourcing a project is a purely public and voluntary thing to do, we should appreciate any project open sourcing itself, even if we know a lot of the things, still aren’t open source
